Northwest Philly Handyman

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What areas do you serve?
We serve northwest Philadelphia and nearby towns in Lower Merion. In Philadelphia, we serve Manayunk, Roxborough, East Falls, Mt. Airy, Germantown, and Chestnut Hill. In Lower Merion we service Bala Cynwyd, Narberth, and Merion Station.

  2. How far out are you scheduled?
Generally, we schedule work 2-4 weeks out, sometimes less and sometimes more. Unfortunately, we’re not able to work projects into our schedule sooner than that. However, if we’re ahead we will contact our next customers on the schedule to try to get to projects more quickly.

  3. Are you Licensed & Insured?
We are a registered Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor (#PA171142) and we are insured.

  4. Do you do X type of work?
If you have work that needs to be done but you’re not sure if it’s something we do or you didn’t see it listed on our services page, just send us a quick email with some details. If it’s not within our scope, we’ll let you know. If it is, we’ll ask you to request an online estimate.

  5. Do you do kitchen and bathroom remodeling?
We specialize in home maintenance and small home repairs. We do not do kitchen and bath remodeling projects or other large projects that require multiple workers and permits. You can find out more about the projects that we do here.

  6. Do you paint?
Yes, we do painting but only for small jobs. If you’re looking for touch up painting or to have a piece of furniture freshened up with paint then we can help. We can also paint accent walls. If you need a whole room painted top to bottom we recommend working with a dedicated painting contractor.

  7. Is there a minimum fee?
We do have a minimum service charge. But, we know that you may have a very small project that may only take a few minutes. If that’s the case we’ll contact you to add additional services while we’re on-site. Our minimum service charge is $100.

  8. What are your COVID safety protocols?
We’re vaccinated and boosted. To protect both our clients, their families, ourselves, and our families we will wear masks covering both mouth and nose while inside your home. We ask that residents also wear masks while we’re on-site and to maintain at least 6’ of distance from our team at all times. If you or our team have COVID symptoms and do not have a negative PCR test work will be rescheduled for as soon as possible.
